Apple AirPods Pro 3

Worth considering for an in-ear, noise-cancelling setup; fit should decide the purchase before the feature list does.

Our take

AirPods Pro 3 combine an in-ear design with Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode and a charging case. Apple lists five sizes of silicone ear tips and support for USB-C and several wireless charging methods. For a traveler, the central question is whether that more sealed listening experience is comfortable enough to use for the length of the journey.

Why consider it

The assortment of ear-tip sizes gives a buyer more fit options than a fixed open-ear design. Multiple listening modes also provide a way to adapt to different environments. A person already using compatible Apple devices may find the integration valuable. These are reasons to put the model on a shortlist, not evidence that its sound or cancellation is superior in our own tests.

The tradeoffs

An in-ear seal can be the deciding drawback for someone who dislikes pressure or silicone tips. Wireless earbuds also add charging and battery aging to ownership. Some advanced features depend on device, software, language and regional availability. We do not base this buying recommendation on health-related features or treat earbuds as a substitute for a clinical evaluation.

What to compare

AirPods 5 are the relevant comparison within this collection if you prefer an open-ear fit. EarPods offer a wired backup when avoiding batteries and pairing matters more. None is automatically the better choice: the shape you can wear comfortably and the features your own devices support should carry more weight than bestseller position.

Before you buy

Try the supplied tip sizes, inspect the return conditions and check which charger or cable you already have. Apple states the USB-C charge cable is sold separately for this package. We have not run listening, noise-cancellation, battery or comfort trials, so this review does not award a performance score.
